It’s true that the software doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles that you find in other editors. However, I found that to be a refreshing change of pace. In this guide, I’ll show you the best laptops for Corel VideoStudio so that you can make your videos look their absolute best.

We’ll begin by going over the basic hardware requirements for Corel VideoStudio. Then, we’ll move on to some specific recommendations for laptops that will provide the best performance for the software. By the end of this guide, you’ll be able to choose the perfect laptop for your video editing needs.

When it comes to video editing, a powerful GPU is necessary to handle the demanding tasks. Corel VideoStudio has a long history of being able to leverage both the CPU and GPU for accelerating rendering tasks; however, I’m not sure if they’ve updated their code to take advantage of modern APIs such as OpenCL or CUDA.

If you’re going for a high-end laptop with an Nvidia or AMD graphics card, you’ll need to ensure that your battery runtime won’t be hindered by the higher power consumption of these chips. The best way to compare graphics performance is by using benchmark scores; however, there aren’t many tests available for Corel VideoStudio. I’ll have to use Cinebench R20 as my main comparison point since it’s one of the most popular 3D rendering benchmarks around.

At the minimum budget level, you should be able to get a laptop with an RTX 3050. This will be enough to handle smaller projects without any issues. However, you might have to wait on the computer to catch up with your edits occasionally. If you can stretch your budget a bit further, I’d recommend going for an RTX 3070. The Intel Core i7 1185G7 offers excellent single-core performance thanks to its 4 cores and 8 threads while the Intel Core i9 1195G7 offers amazing multi-core performance thanks to its 8 cores and 16 threads. Both CPUs are expensive but offer good value for money if you need the extra horsepower for video editing or other demanding tasks.

How Much Horsepower Do You Need for Video Editing?

This is a difficult question to answer because it depends on what kind of video editing you’re doing. If you’re just doing simple edits like cutting and splicing footage together, you can get away with a less powerful processor. However, if you’re doing more complex edits like color correction or working with 4K footage, you’ll need a more powerful processor.

How Much Memory Do You Need?

The minimum amount of RAM you’ll want for video editing is 8 GB, but 16 GB is really the sweet spot. If you’re working with complex effects or large files, then 32 GB would be just ideal.
