Best Laptop for Halo Infinite (2022 Fall Update)

Halo Infinite One of the many upcoming blockbuster games that recently garnered my attention is Halo Infinite. While it is yet to be released, there are quite a few things we know about it already. We know what game engine (Slipspace) the game will be running on. We know the game won’t be following the Battle Royale route (or at least not fully), but will offer co-op play with player parties of four, five, or six people.

Developers promise that this time around they’re focusing on providing a more solid multiplayer experience. Naturally, you can expect it to be one of the most demanding games to run in 4K 60 FPS with max settings enabled.

That said, if you are looking for a laptop to be ready when the game comes out – I’ve got you covered. Time to look at my top budget picks, followed by the list of high-end gaming laptops for playing Halo Infinite. I’m sure you’ll find the best laptop for Halo Infinite!

Requirements for a Halo Infinite laptop

Major Deciding on a graphics card

intel amd gpu

Graphics cards are the key to a great gaming experience. They are the engine that runs the graphics and provides them with all the power they need to show off their beautiful, vibrant worlds. To make things easy for you, I’ve split my recommendations into 3 categories – bare minimum, recommend, and best.

Minimum graphics (under $1000)

If your budget is limiting you and you don’t mind playing Halo Infinite on low settings, integrated graphics is an option. These modules provide the least amount of horsepower needed to power this game. So we can get away with GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5600M in this category.

And if you’re lucky enough to find a laptop with RTX 2060 or RTX 3050 in it, well then you’ve hit jackpot.

Recommended graphics ($1000 – $1600)

Nvidia’s latest mid-range cards – GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 3060 – are in this category and they do not disappoint. I would go for RTX 3060 because it’s much more recent and should not only manage to deliver better performance but also has dedicated Ray Tracing cores.

AMD’s Radeon RX 5600M also falls in this category and should be able to get up to 60 FPS on higher-end settings.

Best graphics ($2500+)

The best video cards are in the high-end. There’s no way around it. RTX 2080 Super, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080 are the cream of the crop. These chips give you enough juice to reach high framerates on highest settings. If you ask me, I’d go for RTX 3070 for its good balance between price and performance.

Major My processor recommendations for Halo Infinite

Processor

The choice of the best processor for playing Halo Infinite depends on your priorities. If you don’t care about high settings and just want to be able to run the game at the bare minimum – even latest i3 should be somewhat enough. On the other hand, to experience the game at higher settings and more FPS, you should choose a Ryzen 7 or an Intel Core i7. Finally, if your budget is large enough – i9 or Ryzen 9 is what you should go for.

Recommendations

What do I recommend? A few options will suffice:

  • Intel i3-10110U (or AMD equivalent) – if running game on Low settings is enough for you
  • Intel i7-11800H (or AMD equivalent) – if you care about smooth performance on high settings
  • Intel i9-11900H (or AMD equivalent) – if you want your system to be as future proof as possible and have a significant budget
TL;DR
  • Intel i3/Ryzen 3 is a good start if running game on Low settings is enough for you
  • Intel i7/Ryzen 7 is needed for high FPS on higher graphics settings
  • Intel i9/Ryzen 9 if you care about smooth performance on high settings if you want your system to be as future proof as possible

Major What’s the best memory for Halo Infinite?

laptop ram

Halo Infinite is one of the games that requires a fair amount of RAM. And that counts for almost all recent games. If you’re still on an 8 GB RAM laptop, it might struggle, but you should still be able to run the game if streaming or other multitasking is not your thing. 16 GB RAM is the sweet spot and 32 GB RAM is future-proof.

Minimum (8 GB)

That’s the only situation where 8GB would be enough – if you’re on a tight budget and can’t afford anything else. That would make the game playable, but it would be at much lower settings and with possible occasional lags and longer loading screens. Not fun!

Recommended (16 GB)

I recommend getting 16GB RAM laptop. It’s more than enough for a fair amount of games, plus you’ll get a little more leeway for multitasking and using software. Even better – if you can spend a little bit more money – go for 32 GB. It’ll ensure smooth performance in most games and let you have some peace of mind for future titles, which might require even more memory.

TL;DR
  • 8 GB RAM is the minimum Halo Infinite requires
  • 16 GB is enough for most modern games
  • 32 GB will be enough for heavy multitasking and future titles
